Laser Alignment
Proper machinery alignment has been updated to include the use of laser technology. This application allows the use of laser beams to generate data for use in determining the alignment. One main advantage of this technique is the removal of inaccurate data acquired through indicator sag, coupling run-out and large coupling gaps. Another advantage is the availability of computer-generated documentation that details the final setup as well as location of aligned components. Faulty alignment has been the culprit in many cases of premature failures and inefficiencies.
