Once Upon a Time

About Us image

Way back when, or around the early 1950s to be more exact, T.H. Burford and his wife, Margaret, moved to Columbus, Mississippi to establish a small motor repair shop on Military Road. Fast forward a few years and Burford Electric Service, Inc. was officially founded in 1959 before moving to its current location in East Columbus. We’ve never stopped growing since then. Now, we have over 100,000 square feet of repair, storage and office spaces that includes a dedicated Technology and Training center.

In addition to our rich history, we also have generations of experience under our belt. Our employees have over 460 years of combined experience in the electric motor industry! So, when we say we’re seasoned professionals, we mean it. In addition to that, we also have the energy, drive and new knowledge that comes with the younger generation. This unique combination lets us offer top-notch service and the latest technology to our customers.

Today, Burford Electric is owned by Jonathan Burford Robinson and Amaris Robinson making it a third-generation family-owned business.
